Police Search for Suspects Responsible for Newark Van Burglary

Newark Public Safety officials request the public’s help in identifying the below-pictured man, woman, and vehicle in connection with the burglary of a van that occurred on Thursday, September 29.

According to officials, between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 8:55 a.m., a work van parked in the 300 block of South 9th Street was broken into.

Officials say, various tools were stolen, including a turbo torch set-up with a tank, Makita hammer drill, and vacuum pumps.

According to officials, when workers returned to the van, they observed that the right rear door window was shattered and that the doors were left open.

Detectives investigating this incident obtained surveillance footage of the suspects.

Officials say, they also observed footage of a gray Honda Civic with a New Jersey temporary tag, black front bumper, and spare donut tire on the rear entering and exiting the lot where the van was parked.

The detectives are seeking the public’s help in identifying this man and woman and in locating the suspects’ vehicle as part of their investigation.
