Police Search for Suspect Wanted for Newark South Ward Burglary

Newark Police officials request  the public’s help in identifying a suspect wanted in connection with a burglary that occurred on Saturday, September 3. 

According to officials, police responded to a call of a burglary at a residence in the 200 block of Rose Street.

Police said the victim reported that two men arrived at the residence, which is under renovation, and removed an HVAC unit, a vanity, an electric saw, and other equipment and materials before fleeing on foot, heading west on Rose Street towards Brenner Street pushing a silver cart.

Detectives investigating this incident sought the public’s help in identifying the two suspects, who were both wearing green traffic vests.  

One of the suspects identified himself as “Mike.”

The second suspect is described as approximately 5’7” tall and 140 pounds.

Police said he was wearing a burgundy hat, a black hooded sweatshirt, and burgundy sweatpants.
