Police Search for Suspect in Connection to Newark Burglary

Newark Public officials request the public’s help in identifying the suspect in connection with a burglary that occurred on Sunday, October 16.

According to Newark Police, police responded to Smitty’s Mobil Exxon, 101 13th Avenue, on a burglary call.

Newark officials said, responding officers observed on the shop’s surveillance cameras a black male entering the business after breaking the glass to its garage bay door.

The suspect stole a black electric scooter, a cash box containing $80.00, a key to a Denali truck, and a phone charger.

According to Newark officials, detectives investigating this incident seek the public’s help in identifying the suspect, who is described as a Black male wearing a black ski mask, a black Puma brand hooded sweatshirt with a BMW logo, and “Motorsport” wording underneath.

He also wore black pants and Jordan 13 sneakers. The suspect used the electronic scooter to flee the scene, heading west on 13th Avenue.
