Police in West Orange are searching for a suspect who fled the scene following a shots-fired incident Sunday afternoon.
Just before 4:30 p.m., gunfire was reported in the teens block of Fairview Avenue, prompting officers to respond to the area.
When police arrived, they located evidence indicating that a shooting had occurred. After canvassing the scene, however, no victims were found at that location.
Investigators believe a vehicle sped away from the area immediately after shots were fired at unknown targets.
The motive for the shooting has not been released, and the incident remains under active investigation.
