An early afternoon shooting that happened in the area of West Market Street and 1st Street shortly after 1 p.m. had police searching for a Dodge Charger occupied by four black males at this time.
The suspects are wanted for reportedly exchanging gunfire with a gray minivan where at least one person was shot in the neck and transported the short distance to University Hospital.
Police found the Dodge Charger on South Orange Ave. and South 11th Street in a collision with a Newark Sanitation truck. There are possible injuries reported.
The suspects have only been described as four black males at this time.
The condition of the victim is unknown.
