Police Search for Man Wanted for Groping Woman Near Irvington Bus Depot

A man who allegedly groped a woman near a bus depot in Irvington has police searching for the suspect.

Police said the incident took place in Irvington on Wednesday, January 25, 2017, at approximately 5:25 PM in the area of Myrtle Ave and Springfield Ave, near the Irvington Bus Terminal.

According to authorities, the suspect is alleged to have committed sexual contact with a female on the street.

The suspect approached the victim from behind and hugged her from behind touching her body inappropriately police said.

Police said The victim attempted to walk away from the suspect, and he followed her.

The suspect ran up to the victim and again grabbed her from behind and touched her inappropriately when the victim screamed and ran away, prompting the suspect to run in the other direction.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 35-40 years of age, with a light complexion, brownish gold colored dreadlocks, green eyes, and light and gold front teeth or tooth.

Police said he was wearing a brown leather jacket and blue jeans.
