Police Search for Man Charged in Newark Shooting

Authorities are asking for the public’s help in locating Nigel Gyamfi, 24, of Newark, who is wanted for a shooting that occurred on October 8th.

According to police, at midnight officers responded to the area of 4th and Dickerson streets on a call of shots fired.

Investigation revealed a male suspect exited a gray Chrysler 300 and fired a handgun at a woman. The woman ran and was uninjured.

Detectives ultimately developed sufficient evidence to identify Nigel Gyamfi as a suspect in this incident and obtained a warrant for his arrest on charges of Aggravated Assault, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose.

While police are actively searching for Gyamfi, they seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating and removing him from the streets.
