According to Bloomfield Police, officers were called to the Marshalls store at 8–12 Franklin Street on November 17,  after a loss prevention officer reported a shoplifting in progress.

The employee told officers that a woman concealed multiple items of clothing in a bag and attempted to leave the store without paying.

Loss prevention stopped the suspect before she exited. The merchandise was valued at $314.63.

Police say the woman, identified as 23-year-old Tawana Edwards of Newark, was taken into custody when officers arrived.

She was transported to Bloomfield Police Headquarters for processing.
