Police Release Photos of Male Wanted for Questioning in Newark Shooting

Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a male, who they say is wanted for questioning regarding a shooting that occurred on August 9th.

Police were patrolling the area of Dickerson and 5th Street around 7:30 p.m. when they heard shots being fired nearby.

The officers responded and found three victims, two females—one 16-years-old and an emancipated 17-year-old, along with a 28-year-old male—suffering from non-life threatening gunshot wounds.

The three were taken to University hospital where they were treated for their injuries and released police said.

According to witnesses, a black Volkswagen sped away from the scene immediately after the shooting.

While police are actively searching for this vehicle and suspect, they are asking for the public’s help in quickly identifying him and removing him from the streets.

This investigation is active and ongoing.
