Police in Newark reported no injuries in the shooting incident in Newark's North Ward on Thursday morning.
At approximately 2 a.m., police responded to reports of shots fired in the vicinity of 213 North 7th Street.
Officers arrived at the scene and taped the area off after they found shell casing, but a search of the community indicated no victims.
The suspect left the scene and has not been apprehended at this time.
Authorities are investigating a motive for the shooting.
