Police Investigating Overnight Shooting Near Passaic-Bergen County Border

Authorities are actively investigating a shooting incident that left a male victim injured near the Passaic and Bergen County border in the early morning hours of Monday.

According to preliminary information, just before 3:20 a.m., Passaic Police were dispatched to the area of the Market Street Bridge after receiving reports of a person shot. 

Responding officers arrived at the scene and found a male victim suffering from gunshot wounds.

The injured individual was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. 

However, as of early morning hours, the extent of his injuries has not been officially disclosed.

Investigators believe the shooting may have occurred on the Wallington side of the bridge, which falls under Bergen County jurisdiction, but the exact location remains under review as detectives from both counties continue their efforts.

The incident is under active and ongoing investigation, and authorities have not yet released any details about possible suspects or a motive behind the shooting.
