Police Investigating Franklin Township Shooting

Somerset County officials announced an investigation into gunshots fired in the area of Voorhees Avenue during the evening hours of Sunday, January 3, in Franklin Township.

Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson stated that on January 3, at approximately 8:49 p.m., Franklin Township Police officers responded to the area of Voorhees Avenue for a 9-1-1 call of shots fired at a residence.

According to officials, upon arrival, Franklin Township Police Department observed damage to a residence and a nearby vehicle which they determined to be caused by gunshots. No injuries were reported to be sustained.

Detectives from the Franklin Township Police Department responded to conduct an investigation. Authorities have not released a motive for the incident, and no arrests have been made.
