There were no injuries reported in late night gunfire that erupted in a neighborhood in the city.
Police responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the 300 block of North 6th Street at around 9 p.m.
Units arriving to the scene located evidence of a shooting but a search of the scene had no victims found.
At least two vehicles was struck several times by gunfire at that location according to reports.
The shooting is under investigation by the Newark Police Department.
