A male victim suffering injury from gunfire overnight has police in Newark investigating.
University Hospital Officials contacted police after a victim suffering a gunshot wound was transported by private vehicle to the hospital's emergency room.
The man arrived at the hospital at around 1 a.m. was immediately admitted according to reports. His injuries were not immediately reported to be life threatening.
It is not clear where the man suffered his injury but there were reports of shots fired in the area of 16th Ave. and 14th Street at around midnight among other areas.
The investigation is being handled by the Newark Police Department.
