Authorities in Paterson are investigating a shooting incident that occurred Monday evening in a busy section of the city.

According to preliminary reports, the gunfire rang out around 7:30 p.m. in the vicinity of 222 Park Avenue.
A ShotSpotter device detected the gunshots and alerted local police, prompting a swift response from patrol units.
Upon arrival, officers discovered shell casings scattered outside a neighborhood bodega. A thorough search of the immediate area, including inside the store, revealed no victims.
The suspect fled the scene before police arrived and remains at large.
Investigators have not yet released a description of the shooter or a possible motive for the incident.
