Newark’s Shooting Response Team was called in Friday night to investigate gunfire reported in the city’s South Ward.
Around 10:45 p.m., a ShotSpotter device detected shots in the area of 190 Badger Avenue.
Responding officers arrived to find ballistic evidence confirming a shooting had occurred. 
After an extensive search of the neighborhood, police determined that no victims were located.
The suspect fled the scene and remains at large.
Authorities have not yet released information on a possible motive. The investigation is active and ongoing.
