Newark Police are investigating a shooting that injured a male in the Saturday morning.
Reports of shots fired sent police Orange Street at around 1 a.m. where arriving officers found evidence that a shooting occurred, but no injured victims were located.
A short time after the shooting, officials at the University Hospital contaced police when the victim entered the hospital's emergency department suffering non-life threatening gunshot wounds according to reports.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
There were no arrests immediately reported.
