A late night shooting that happened in Elizabeth has authorities investigating.
Police responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the 200 block of Erie Street at around midnight where responding officers set up a crime scene near a bar at that location.
At least one person was transported to the hospital suffering an apparent gunshot injury sources said.
Police canvassed the area through the night and were seen early this morning searching for evidence and questioning potential witnesses in the area.
The shooting did not take place inside the local bar according to witnesses.
The condition of the victim is unknown at this time.
