A shooting that left one person suffering serious injuries in Jersey City is under investigation by police.
The incident happened in the at around 9 p.m. 911 calls had police respond to the vicinity of Woodlawn and Ocean avenues to investigate shots fired reports.
Police responded to the scene and found evidence that a shooting occurred, but no victim was found at the scene according to reports.
Officials at the Jersey City Medical Center contacted police when a private vehicle occupied by a shooting victim arrived at the emergency department shortly after the shooting.
The victim's injuries were not immediately reported as life-threatening.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
There were no arrests reported.
