Police Identify Carteret Woman Killed in Linden Crash; Driver Survives

Police have released the identity of a 32-year-old Carteret woman killed in a single vehicle crash this morning.

Officers responded to US Route 1 & 9 southbound near Hampden Street at approximately 11:48 a.m. for a report of a serious single vehicle crash.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a 1994 Oldsmobile 88 - operated by 38-year-old Mohamed A. Hadgiev, from Carteret - struck a utility pole.

The driver, Hadgiev, was transported to University Hospital in Newark, where he was treated and later released.

The front seat passenger of the vehicle, 32-year-old Isha M. Hadgiev of Carteret, was transported to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in Rahway, where she was pronounced dead at 12:30 pm.

A follow up investigation is being conducted by the Linden Police Traffic Bureau in conjunction with the Union County Prosecutor’s Office.

There are no pending charges at the present time.
