Linden – According to statement released by Linden Police, just after 3:00 a.m. on police responded to the 1200 block of E. Linden Ave on reports of a serious auto-pedestrian crash.
Police say when they arrived at the scene the learned that the incident began with a large fight in front of Cheeques Gentleman’s Club, 1230 E. Linden Avenue
According to police, during the incident, two victims were assaulted by multiple suspects.
Investigators believe that one of the victims, a 31-year-old man from Jersey City, was then struck by a vehicle.
Both victims were transported to Newark University Hospital and are listed in critical condition.
The suspect vehicle fled the scene traveling west on East Linden Avenue.
The crash remains under investigation by the Linden Police Detective Bureau and Traffic Bureau, with assistance from the Union County Sheriff’s Office.
