Police Arrest Woman For Firing Gun During Dispute in Newark

Police in Newark are reporting the arrest of Valerie E. Faulk, 55, of Newark for an aggravated assault shooting that occurred Tuesday.

According to police, at approximately 4:20 p.m., police responded to an apartment building at Columbia Avenue near Plymouth Street on a call of shots fired.

Police said a 48-year old female victim was shot at by a female suspect following a quarrel.

There were no injuries reported as a result of this incident police said.

Officers recovered the handgun at the scene and Faulk was immediately arrested.

She is charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose.

These charges are merely accusations.

Each suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
