Authorities announce the arrest of Johnnie L. Davila, 31, of Willingboro, and Kian Ahmed Barber, 33, of Newark, for possession of a handgun in an incident that occurred on Oct. 23rd.
Officials say at approximately 6:30 p.m., police patrolling the area of Avon Avenue and South 17th Street observed a 2005 black Cadillac CTS with darkly tinted windows and conducted a motor vehicle stop. The officers observed a handgun inside the vehicle and the driver, Johnnie L. Davila, and passenger, Kian Ahmed Barber, were immediately arrested.
Police charged both men with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon. In addition, Barber was charged with Certain Persons Prohibited from Weapon Possession.
These charges are merely accusations. This suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
