Police Arrest Suspect Involved in Several Residential Burglaries in Prospect Park

The Prospect Park Police Department solved several residential burglary investigations while responding to a burglary in progress call at approximately 12:00 p.m on March 24. 

According to police, Responding Patrol Officers and Detectives observed 27-year-old, Abdulla Taylor, of Paterson, fleeing from the scene of a Borough residence after committing a Burglary. 

Police officials said Detective Arthur Canestrino captured Mr. Taylor after a brief foot pursuit. Upon further investigation by our Detective Bureau, it was determined that Mr. Taylor was the actor of two previous residential burglaries which occurred during the month of March. 

According to police, Mr. Taylor was charged with three counts of Burglary, two counts of Theft and one count of Resisting Arrest. Due to bail reform, Mr. Taylor was subsequently released pending a court hearing.

"I would like to commend all the officers involved for their diligent police work," Mayor Khairullah said. "It will remain a continued priority and commitment of our police department, administration and governing body to bring peace of mind and the very best to preserve and protect the highest quality of life for our residents and borough community at large."
