A 26-year-old man from Paterson has been arrested in connection with a shooting that injured another man earlier this month, according to information released by the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.

Keime Porter was taken into custody on July 19, 2025, following an investigation by the Paterson Police Department’s Shooting Investigation Unit.

The arrest stems from a shooting that occurred around 7:46 p.m. on July 9, near the intersection of 12th Avenue and Madison Avenue in Paterson.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found a 55-year-old Paterson man suffering from gunshot wounds.

He was transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Investigators were able to identify a possible crime scene in the area shortly after the incident.

According to authorities, the investigation led to the identification of Porter as the suspected shooter.

He was arrested without incident in Clifton, near Gregory Avenue and Burgess Place, with the help of the U.S. Marshals Service, New Jersey State Police, and Paterson Police.

Porter is facing multiple charges, including attempted murder, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. He is currently in custody pending court proceedings.

The investigation is ongoing.
