Police Arrest Man Wanted for Audubon Attempted Murder

A 40-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder and weapons offenses for the stabbing of a woman in Audubon on Sunday afternoon, Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Audubon Chief of Police Thomas J. Tassi announced.

An investigation was conducted on Sunday by the Audubon Police Department and the CCPO Major Crimes Unit for a reported stabbing of a woman in the parking lot of the Acme store at 608 West Nicholson Road in Audubon.

On Sunday afternoon, Audubon Police officers took Altirik Higgins of Philadelphia into custody in connection to the stabbing.

An investigation revealed that an 80-year-old woman was stabbed multiple times as she was loading groceries into her car in the parking lot.

The victim was taken to Cooper University Hospital, where she remains hospitalized in stable condition.

Higgins is charged with attempted murder, weapons offenses and he is currently lodged in the Camden County Correctional Facility.

All individuals charged with crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
