Police Arrest Man for Stabbing Outside of Linden Bar

Police said Mr. Carrington Harrell, 50, of Linden, was arrested and is charged with third-degree aggravated assault and fourth-degree weapons charges after he allegedly stabbed a man during an altercation outside of a Linden bar.

According to Linden Police, on Friday, October 9, about 10:40 p.m., officers responded to Mike’s Tavern, 1105 Roselle Street, on reports of a stabbing.

Officers quickly located the victim, a 45-year-old man also from Linden, outside of the bar.

The victim suffered a non-life-threatening stab wound to the chest and was transported to Trinitas Regional Medical Center for further treatment.

A subsequent investigation identified Harrell as the suspect, and his description was broadcast to units in the surrounding area.

Officers located Harrell a short time later in nearby Roselle, and he was arrested without incident.

Harrell was released on a summons pending a scheduled appearance in Superior Court.
