Police Arrest 25-Year-Old in Connection with Paterson Shooting

Passaic County officials announce that based upon an investigation by the Paterson Police Department, in conjunction with the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office, Khalill Carr, 25-years-old from Paterson, was arrested in relation to a shooting that took place November 29, in the area of Market Street and Madison Street in Paterson. 

According to county officials, Khalill Carr is charged with Attempted Murder, Unlawful Possession of a Handgun, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Aggravated Assault and Certain Persons Not to Have Weapons.

According to police, on November 29, members of the Paterson Police Department were dispatched to the area of Market and Madison streets on a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, members of the Paterson Police Department located evidence of a crime scene, along with victims Khalill Carr and a 22-year-old female Paterson resident who had both sustained non-fatal gunshot wounds.

Police reported that both Khalill Carr and the female victim were immediately transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson for treatment. Based on the investigation, Khalill Carr was identified as a participant in the shooting and a warrant was issued for his arrest. 

According to officials, on December 2, at approximately 12:00 p.m., members of the Paterson Police Department and New Jersey State Parole arrested Khalill Carr at his home in Paterson.

A criminal complaint is merely an accusation. Despite this accusation, defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
