Philadelphia Man Charged with Murder, Weapons Offenses for Fatal Shooting of Gloucester Township Man

A Philadelphia man has been arrested and charged for the fatal shooting of a man on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, reported by Camden County official Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Gloucester Township Police Chief David Harkins.

Authorities say on February 22, 2023, at approximately 3:05 a.m., the Gloucester Township Police Department received a 911 call for a person shot at the 800 block of the North Black Horse Pike in Gloucester Township.

Gloucester Township Police officers arrived at the scene and located a man who had been shot, according to officials. 

Officials said the victim was identified as 28-year-old Tarik Green of Millville. 

Officials say Green was transported to Jefferson Hospital in Stratford and pronounced deceased at 4:43 a.m.

Following an in-depth investigation by the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Gloucester Township Police Department, according to authorities, Kacy Banks, 26, of Philadelphia, PA, was charged with the following offenses for the fatal shooting of Green:

• 1st-degree Felony Murder

• 2nd-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon

• 2nd-degree Robbery

Officials say on March 15, 2023, Banks was arrested in Philadelphia, PA, by the U.S. Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force.

Banks remains in custody in the Philadelphia Jail, pending extradition to New Jersey, authorities said. 

All individuals charged with crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
