Authorities in Camden County charged a Philadelphia man for committing robberies at three separate banks in Camden County, reported Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay, Cherry Hill Police Chief Robert Kempf and Gloucester City Police Chief Brian Morrell.
Camden County officials said Mr. George Drake, 28, is accused of entering the PNC Bank, located at 500 Monmouth Avenue, Gloucester City, New Jersey, on July 16, 2022, and passing a demand note for money.
Officials said on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, Drake is accused of entering the WSFS Bank, located at 1901 Route 70, Cherry Hill, and passing a demand note for money.
On Thursday, August 25, 2022, Drake is accused of the Santander bank, located at 1970 Route 70, Cherry Hill and passing a demand note for money.
Following further investigation by detectives of the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, the Cherry Hill Police Department and the Gloucester City Police Department, Drake was charged on January 5, 2023, with the following offenses:
1. One count of 2nd-degree Robbery for the robbery of the PNC Bank in Gloucester City on July 16, 2022
2. One count of 2nd-degree Robbery for the robbery of the WSFS Bank in Cherry Hill on August 17, 2022
3. One count of 2nd degree Robbery for the robbery of the Santander Bank in Cherry Hill on August 25, 2022
Camden County officials said Drake is currently in custody in Chester County Jail in West Chester, Pennsylvania, in connection with multiple bank robberies in Pennsylvania.
He is awaiting an extradition hearing.
