Elizabeth police are looking into a Wednesday night shooting that left one person injured, according to initial reports from the scene.
The incident unfolded shortly before 10:30 p.m. on Maple Avenue, where officers responded after receiving multiple calls reporting gunfire in the area. 
Upon arrival, police located an individual suffering from gunshot wounds.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital and is reportedly in stable condition.
Authorities detained one person at the scene, and a weapon was recovered, officials said.
