Authorities in Union County are looking into the motive behind a shooting that reportedly injured a woman found in Elizabeth on Monday.
In a preliminary investigation, Elizabeth Police found the gunshot victim in the vicinity of 126 3rd Street shortly before 10:40 p.m.
According to police, the victim suffered a non-life-threatening bullet wound in her leg and was rushed to the hospital, where she is expected to recover.
Police over in Roselle said they found shell casings near 651 Elm Street, but no victims were found at this location.
Both agencies are working together to piece the incident together to gain facts in the case.
There were no arrests reported.
