Paterson Police found a person shot behind an elementary school on Wednesday evening.
Officers responded to reports of shots fired in the area of North Main and Clinton streets around 7:15 p.m.
Upon arrival, police found the gunshot victim in the rear of School #28.
Police say the victim was rushed to St. Joseph's Medical Center for treatment and is in serious but stable condition.
Authorities released no arrests of potential suspects at this time.
