A Pennsylvania man has been sentenced to more than seven years in federal prison for his role in a firearms trafficking conspiracy that brought dozens of unserialized guns into New Jersey.

According to information released by the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Evander Theus, 27, of Allentown, Pennsylvania, was sentenced to 87 months in prison after previously pleading guilty to conspiracy to traffic firearms in federal court in Trenton.

Federal prosecutors said that between April and August 2025, Theus, who was not a licensed firearms dealer, conspired with others to sell and transport 47 firearms into Middlesex County. Authorities said the weapons either had defaced serial numbers or were privately made “ghost guns” that lacked serial numbers altogether.

In addition to the prison sentence, U.S. District Judge Georgette Castner ordered Theus to serve three years of supervised release following his release from prison.
