There were severe injuries immediately reported for a person struck by a vehicle on a roadway in Elizabeth late Monday evening.
According to a preliminary investigation, at approximately 11:40 p.m., a vehicle struck the pedestrian in the 1000 block of Spring Street at the Renaissance Hotel.
Police say the victim was transported to the hospital, where the extent of their injuries were unconfirmed.
The Union County Fatal crash investigation unit was called to the scene to assist in the investigation.
There were no other injuries reported.
