North Brunswick Police are investigating the circumstances behind a pedestrian strike on a busy roadway Monday morning.
It happened shortly before 3:55 a.m. in the northbound lanes of Route 1 near Finnegans Lanes.
Police and EMS found the seriously injured victim lying on the roadway after a car struck them at that location.
The unidentified person was transported to an area hospital for treatment and remains in serious condition.
Police closed all lanes for the accident investigation.
No other injuries were reported.
