Police conducted an accident investigation in a section of Lakewood Township after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle Sunday night.
It happened around 8:40 p.m. on Route 9 near 9th Street.
Police say EMS found the unidentified victim suffering severe injuries after the vehicle struck them at that location.
The injured was transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center for treatment and remained in serious condition.
Lakewood Police closed the intersection off while they investigated what caused the crash.
There were no other injuries reported.
