A pedestrian was severely injured after being struck by a vehicle in Asbury Park on Monday night.
The incident occurred at approximately 9:35 p.m. in the vicinity of Main Street and 2nd Avenue.
Upon the officer's arrival, they discovered two victims who had been injured in the accident, both of whom had been struck by a car.
One of the victims required immediate medical attention and was transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center after EMS personnel performed CPR.
The second individual involved in the incident reportedly declined medical treatment.
The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office has been notified of the incident and is actively involved in the ongoing investigation.
