Authorities in Burlington County are investigating a fatal crash that claimed the life of a pedestrian on Route 130 early Saturday morning.
According to preliminary information, the incident occurred just after midnight in the southbound lanes of U.S. Route 130 near Cinnaminson Avenue.
Police and emergency responders arrived after receiving multiple 911 calls reporting a person lying in the roadway.
Responders found an unconscious and unresponsive individual suffering from severe injuries. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle that struck the pedestrian remained on site and cooperated with investigators.
The motorist suffered a hand injury but was not seriously hurt.
All lanes of Route 130 were temporarily closed while police conducted an on-scene investigation.
The cause of the crash remains under active investigation by Burlington County authorities.
