Pedestrian Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver in Clifton

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Clifton Police Chief Mark Centurione announce that at approximately 9:02 p.m. on Wednesday night, police responded to Main Avenue in the area of South Parkway in the City of Clifton in response to a report of a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian.

Upon officer's arrival at the scene, the police discovered a 26-year-old female victim, later identified as Erika Aguilar from Garfield, who had been struck by a vehicle as she was crossing Main Avenue.

The vehicle that struck Ms. Aguilar fled the scene before the police arrived. Ms. Aguilar suffered severe injuries as a result of being hit, and she was transported to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson where she remains in stable condition.

The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it becomes available.
