Pedestrian Strike Temporarily Closes Road in Marlboro

Police temporarily closed a portion of U.S. 9 to investigate a pedestrian strike that caused serious injuries in Marlboro on Sunday night. 

According to police, the victim was struck by a car near Union Hill Road just before 10:15 p.m. 

Police say EMS rushed the victim to Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center suffering severe injuries. 

Officers closed off the road as they looked into the cause of the collision and the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office was notified of the incident, which remains under investigation.
