Pedestrian Severely Injured by Car in Newark's Ironbound Section


One person suffered life-threatening injuries after a vehicle struck them in a section of Newark's Ironbound Monday night. 

According to reports, just before 9:50 p.m., police were called to the area of Raymond Boulevard's extension to Market Street near Madison Street to investigate reports of an injured person. 

Upon arrival, police found a seriously injured person lying on the ground after a vehicle struck them at that location. 

Police reported severe injuries while investigators tried to determine the circumstances behind the incident. 

Units at the scene diverted traffic in the area to assist in the investigation. 

There were no other injuries reported.
