Jersey City Police requested a crash investigation team at the scene of a pedestrian strike that seriously injured a person overnight.
It happened around 9:37 p.m. in the single-digit block of Sip Avenue at US 1&9.
Police arrived and found the victim suffering severe injuries after a vehicle struck them at that location.
Police say the injured was rushed to Jersey City Medical Center for treatment while officers taped off the area to launch the investigation.
Later, the Hudson County Prosecutors Officer confirmed that the victim had died.
No other injuries were immediately reported.
