The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office was notified of a pedestrian strike that left a person severely injured in Paterson Saturday night.
According to police, just before 10:50 p.m., they received reports of a pedestrian strike at Ellison and East 18th Street.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene and found the victim pinned underneath the vehicle and suffering serious injuries.
Police say rescue workers extricated the victim then transport them to St. Jospeph's Hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
The Passaic County accident investigation team arrived at the scene to conduct the investigation.
There were no other injuries reported.
