Pedestrian Pinned Under Car in Brick

A pedestrian was struck and pinned under a car Sunday afternoon, police said.

The accident occurred in the Brick Plaza parking lot in the area of The Dollar Tree store shortly after 12:30 Sunday afternoon.

A woman, later identified as Barbara Sole, 68, of Brick, was struck, pinned under a 2008 Ford F250 driven by 24-year-old Joseph Fedor of Garfield.

Initial investigation revealed, Sole was walking in the travel lane in front of the vehicle as it began to pull out of a parking space. Sole was knocked to the ground and was pinned under the truck.

Patrolman Prendeville and Patrolman Scelfo were the first responding officers on scene and began to render aid to Sole.

Pioneer Hose, Breton Woods and Laurelton Fire companies responded to extricate Sole from under the vehicle.

Brick Police First Aid and MONOC Paramedics responded to treat and transported Sole to Jersey Shore Medical Center for treatment.

The Traffic Safety Unit responded and investigating the incident.
