NJ State Police officials are investigating a pedestrian accident that left a person dead on a highway in Somerset County Thursday morning.
According to initial reports, Troopers were dispatched to the southbound lanes of I-287 in Bridgewater to investigate reports of a crash around 2:40 a.m.
Upon arrival, State Police found a severely injured person struck by a vehicle at that location.
Medical professionals pronounced the unidentified person dead at the scene.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
