Bloomfield authorities responded to a pedestrian strike that resulted in fatal injuries Friday evening.
The Essex County Prosecutor's Office was notified of the incident, which occurred at the intersection of Bloomfield Avenue and Grove Street, around 6:40 p.m.
Police were swiftly dispatched to the scene after reports of an injured person surfaced. Upon arrival, emergency medical services were called to provide immediate assistance.
Tragically, despite their efforts, the female victim's injuries proved fatal, and they were pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
An active and ongoing investigation has been launched to determine the circumstances leading to this heartbreaking incident. Authorities are working diligently to gather all relevant information.
