Emergency crews rushed to the scene of a serious pedestrian crash in Rahway late Tuesday night that left a person critically injured.
According to preliminary information, the pedestrian was struck near 151 West Main Street shortly before 10:15 p.m.
Initial reports indicated the victim went into traumatic cardiac arrest, prompting first responders to immediately begin CPR.
Moments later, crews reported that the victim had regained a pulse but was experiencing agonal breathing, indicating an extremely serious medical emergency.
Additional details surrounding the circumstances of the crash were not immediately available, including information about the vehicle involved.
The victim’s current condition has not been confirmed by authorities.
