Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Deputy Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora announce that at approximately 8:17 p.m. Thursday evening police responded to the area of 57 Jefferson Street, Paterson, NJ on a report of shots fired. When police arrived they found a possible crime scene, but no victim in the area.
According to authorities, shortly after that, members of the Paterson Police Department located an 18-year old male, traveling in a vehicle in the area of North 1st Street, who had sustained a gunshot wound.
The victim was immediately escorted to Saint Joseph’s Regional Medical Center for treatment.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it becomes available.
