Paterson Shooting Victim Self-Transported to Hospital

Police in Paterson are investigating a shooting that left a man injured in the city Monday night.

According to a statement released by Paterson Police officials, at approximately 7:08, p.m., members of the Paterson Police Department responded to the area of Market and Pennington streets on a report of shots fired.

Police officers arriving at the scene located a possible crime scene but were unable to find a victim.

Authorities say a short time later, police were notified that a 25-year-old male Paterson resident arrived at Saint Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson for treatment of a non-fatal gunshot wound.

Based on the initial investigation, police say the victim was in the area of Market and Pennington Street Paterson when the shooting took place.

The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it becomes available.
